Apple Cuts Prices Across Cinema Displays - Effective immediately are price cuts across the company's entire range of stunning Cinema Displays with $100 cut from the 20 and 23 inchers and a big fat $200 hacked off the 30in goliath. Consequently the RRPs have been adjusted to $599, $899 and $1,799 respectively
Alternative to Apple Cinema Display - It has been two and half years since Apple introduced the 30-inch Cinema HD Display (4 mice). At that time, the price put this widescreen monitor far out of reach of mainstream Apple fans ($3,000 plus a required Power Mac G5
Analysts slam AMD home cinema 'pink elephant' - Experts have slammed AMD's newly unveiled Live PC-based home cinema plans, describing the initiative as "the big pink elephant that no one wants to see"
Apple's Cinema HD Display Has Star Power - It isn't often that a piece of computer hardware actually stops people in their tracks around my desk. There's usually a collection of devices adorning the workspace, though many are indistinguishable from each other, at least to the untrained eye
Apple Cinema Displays to include HDMI - Tipsters informed MacScoop that Apple is planning to use HDMI technology in its next generation of Cinema Displays, while another recent vague report claims that a larger than 30 inch model could also be on the way
19-Inch LCDs: View with Some Room - If you're a frequent computer user (and who isn't these days?), nothing changes your outlook like switching from a CRT to an LCD monitor. The advantages of LCDs over CRTs are plentiful. For starters, LCDs take up less space and are a lot lighter than their CRT counterparts, not to mention more energy efficient. The flat face of an LCD reflects less glare, and the lack of flicker means less eyestrain and eye fatigue for those who have to stare at their screens for hours on end
Part 1: Dell™ 2005FPW UltraSharp Flat Panel Monitor Review - I couldn't deal with the stretching of the image and so I went to Apple's website and found an updater for the original nVidia GeForce2 MX card. I applied this update and holy cow I got the elusive 1680x1050 resolution the monitor calls for. Wow, the cinema format of this monitor is beautiful!
The 20" LCD Shootout: Dell versus Apple - As unique as Apple's Cinema display might be in the world of 19" to 21" flat panel displays, it shares the same LG.Philips panel as the Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW. There happens to be only a single panel manufacturer capable/willing to mass produce wide screen, high resolution flat panel displays for the PC market. Since these two displays are so similar, we thought it only necessary to review both side by side. Several sources have claimed that the 2005FPW had numerous discoloration problems and generally poor image quality
Apple Reduces Prices on Cinema Displays - April 27, 2005— Apple® today announced that it has made its award-winning line of widescreen flat panel Cinema Displays more affordable than ever by reducing the price of the 20-inch model to just $799 and the 23-inch HD model to just $1,499. In addition, Apple’s new 2.7 GHz Power Mac® G5s and 1.67 GHz 17-inch PowerBooks now feature built-in support to directly drive Apple's groundbreaking 30-inch Cinema HD Display, saving customers hundreds of dollars
Apple 30in Cinema Display - So, you’re probably wondering why I’m reviewing a monitor that’s been around for so long - other than the fact that it’s a fantastic bit of kit of course. Well the simple answer is that I was waiting until it was possible to connect the 30in Cinema Display to a standard PC, rather than a G5 Mac, and that day has finally come.
Apple 30-inch HD monitor - Although it’s an absolute monster of a screen, Apple’s top-of-the-range, high-definition display puts in a good performance in terms of reaction times, image quality and general luminosity. Colour is fairly reproduced across the entire screen, too. No mean feat, given the inherent limitations posed by the technology
AG Neovo M-17 Problematic Display Disappoints - AG Neovo claims this 17-inch digital LCD, with its built-in speakers and two USB ports on the front, is the perfect companion to the new Mac mini. Unfortunately, the speakers leave a lot to be desired and the extra desktop real estate that this multimedia display requires may not appeal to those who bought Mac minis in an attempt to conserve space
30-inch Cinema HD Display - How huge is Apple's 30-inch Cinema HD Display? An InDesign magazine-spread layout displays at about one-and-a-half times actual size. Photoshop displays a 6-megapixel file at 66.7 percent with plenty of room left over for piles o' palettes. A default Microsoft Excel spreadsheet with View > Zoom set at 100 percent is 116 rows tall and 33.5 columns wide—that's 3,886 cells. Also at 100 percent, Word's Page Layout view displays eight pages.
Apple 30-Inch Cinema HD Display - Apple's 30-inch Cinema HD Display is something worth wishing for. The top of the line LCD display from Apple is, simply put, the most gorgeous display I've ever seen. It's sheer size dwarfs just about anything that could reasonably be called a computer monitor, but more than this--much more than this--it's everything you could hope for in terms of a monitor designed for professionals in the visual arts: color accuracy and consistency, performance and resolution
Cheaper Cinema Displays -- Reviewed! - Speaking of carrying things around, I also had to carry the power supply. Another bad design in my opinion. The days of monitors with external power supplies are over... except at Apple. The monitor feels heavy enough on it's own without the added weight of the power supply. Yes, I realize I'd have that weight anyway, but at least not the housing and extra wiring needed for it to be external
