Introduction
This Buyer's Guide compares the G4/400 MHz Power Mac (with the DVD ROM optical drive), to the G4/1.25 GHz Power Mac (with the Combo optical drive).
The G4/400 MHz Power Mac was released in July of 2000. It was the low-end model of a family of three, which includes a 450 MHz machine in the middle, and 500 MHz machine on the high-end.
The G4/1.25 GHz Power Mac was released in June of 2003. It was released on its own, a holdover machine from the last generation, as the main Power Mac line moved on the G5 processors and a new design.
