The Mac Pro is a workstation computer manufactured by Apple Inc. The machines are based on Xeon microprocessors, but are similar to the Power Mac G5 they replaced in terms of outward appearance and expansion capabilities. They are currently one of three desktop computers in the current Macintosh lineup. The Mac Pro is currently the fastest computer that Apple has to offer. Apple updated Mac Pro in July 2010 (Available in Aug 2010) with the options of up to 12 processing cores, up to four optional 512GB solid state drives and ATI Radeon HD 5770/5870 graphics.

I bought this Mac Pro to replace a PowerMac that was over seven years old, and which had fallen inadequate to handle my increasingly demanding digital image processing, and which was all but worthless at running Microsoft Windows.
This Mac Pro is probably 8x faster than the PowerMac at most tasks, and its case design is lovely. The way PCI cards snap into and out of place without screws, the easy accessibility of the DIMM slots on a pull-out card, and the ability to add and remove drives without cables, all reflect Apple's obsession with details...
